The 2018 US Trust Study of High Net Worth Philanthropy

September 18, 2019

Matthew Laufman, Senior Vice President, Philanthropic Strategist – Bank of America Private Bank – Philanthropic Solutions

Established in 2006, this groundbreaking study, conducted in partnership with The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, is the largest and most comprehensive survey to date of the charitable practices and attitudes of wealthy Americans. The 2018 study will explore many of the same issues probed in earlier versions of this research, including how much, where, and why wealthy donors give their time and money. It will also expand into several new areas, such as how and the frequency in which donors measure and monitor the results in their giving. The findings in the 2018 study impact and inform the practices of donors, nonprofit organizations and advisors alike.

Matthew Laufman is a Senior Vice President and Philanthropic Strategist with Bank of America Private Bank Philanthropic Solutions group. Matthew’s responsibilities include providing in-depth philanthropic planning knowledge and tailored solutions to assist clients in pursuing their mission and goals.
